THE HUMAN CLOCK...we're obsessed!!

So, Ruco and I really had a neat fourth of July!! We were able to watch all the fireworks from our front porch!! It was so cool, we both just stood on the balcony railings, in awe that we didnt have to wait in traffic, but could sit in the comfort of our own little house! It was so much fun!
This week was a busy one...because of our fourth of July holiday, Ruco and I were kind of running around on Wednesday, trying to get everything together for youth group. We always try to do some sort of game, movie clip AND we get a funny little skit for a couple of the kids to do. We of course, always make Kaleb do the skit because hes just so funny! We talked about having the courage to actually DO the things God wants us to do, no matter how hard they are. I think that it went really well, but above all else, it was definately a good lesson for ME because I sometimes question and get scared about all the things that God wants me to do with my life!! When I was still in high school, I felt that God was calling me to do missions, specifically in Africa..I know...random! Then later, after my freshman year in college at CIY conference, God confirmed that calling in my heart, even before I met Ruco!!! I suppose that its not coincidence that I met, fell in love with, and am now married to a boy from South Africa, who has such a calling on his own heart to go and serve people! I really am so excited about all the things that God is going to do with me and Ruco and the places that He is going to take us!! Sometimes it is scary because I am being so spoiled now by living so close to my family. I am afraid of the realities of doing missions and living overseas!! Rucos mom always tells me that people think that their life is so glamorous (I being one of those)...because they live in Paris, and have lived all over the world serving Christ, but she says that it really is hard sometimes, and you can ONLY do it if it is indeed the calling placed on your life..what you are passionate about! But she says one thing that always sticks with me...she says no matter what I do in my life, I have always gone and done what God has asked of me.. I HAVE been faithful! I really would love to look back at my life, and say, no matter what, I was always faithful!!! Rucos family is soo amazing, I really am blessed to have them as mentors in my life! If anyone wanted to check out the Van Der Merwe Campus Crusade webpage, it is http://vandermerwe.ministryhome.org/index.php

With all that said, I am really enjoying every minute of living close to my family NOW!! Ruco and I hang out with my family pretty much every weekend, and we have a blast!! Today was the soccer world cup, so in honor of Ruco and his obsession with the game, we had a party at Aunt Gwens!! After church we all went over, swam in the pool, ate lunch, and watched the game! Marti and I didnt so much watch the game as we had a photo shoot instead for the website www.humanclock.com

Here is Marti and I jumping in the pool...Ruco says it just looks like we are standing in a very shallow pool, but oh no, this is a mid air ACTION shot!!

Trying to float..im not so good at it!

It is a really fun website that one of my co-workers showed me! She submitted some pictures of her little boy holding up a time (any random time that you pick) and they showed up on the site the next week! Every minute of every day, a new picture pops up which tells what time it is! Its a cute website and Marti and I had a lot of fun taking the pictures to submit!! Marti and I always have soo much fun together, shes hilarious really! On Fathers Day, she made up a song with interpretive dance motions and performed them all day long..she also says the funniest and most random things and keeps our family laughing NON stop!! I always love hanging out with her and riding around in her little neon with the hot pink stars all over it!! YAY! I hope everyone had such a fun weekend!!
