So Ruco and I have heard from our placement officer that we are delayed..again until late January. My sweet husband and I have been feeling very confused to say the least. We have started thinking...
"Maybe this isnt the door God opened for us...."
"Why Peace Corps, our hearts are to reach people for Christ. We need to be with a mission organization-we need to be in the ministry to be really effective!!!!"
This week, we have applied to "Africa Inland Mission-AIM", "Mission Corps", and written a dozen emails to mission organizations we love that serve in Africa.
More than ever, God has confirmed my heart is for Africa, and I long to meet the needs of people there!
Today, we found out our Peace Corps invitation is in the mail. In a few days we will find out EXACTLY what country we will be serving in. Ruco and I got excited, REALLY excited...which only furthered our CONFUSION! We have been praying..HARD for Gods clear direction in our life....pray for that too for us!!!
This afternoon, I was encouraged by reading many blogs, etc. from Christians serving in the Peace Corps. Then, I found this written by the DIRECTOR of the Peace Corps:

I know Ruco and I can serve with any organization, and do just the same thing. We want to MEET needs in Africa, and through this, share Christ. Pray with us that we have clear direction on whether or not Peace Corps is the avenue for us! No matter the organization, Christ will be our platform! Voila!

Hi Tori, it might not be a road block but a hurdle you need to go over. Some times God puts a wall in front of us to test us, Tash and I have hit a few along our way. As long as you are doing Kingdom work you WILL be blessed.
I am so happy that ya'll FINALLY got your invitation!! Now you know you are going!! YAY! I can't wait to see you both next month!! I love you so much!
Ok, so being a fellow "planner" I know that obstacles STINK! But I think people like us get the most of them because it takes reminder after reminder for us to TRULY let go (not that warm fuzzy feeling and elaborate prayer kind of "letting God have control") the kind of "letting go" that only comes from getting knocked on our rears...with that said, you are doing something most Christians only dream about doing. So regardless where or what organization you do it with...you are HOME. I'm praying for you guys daily. Remember, nothing is wasted and nothing is coincidence.....you are where you are meant to be =) I love you and you encourage me spiritually daily by who you are!
