CAMPING!

So this weekend was a blast!! We went camping at Cape San Blas, which is about 30 miles from Apalachicola. We took Kaleb and Marti, and loaded up my car full of fishing poles, snorkling gear, and sleeping bags! The camp ground had a beach on one side, and a bay on the other (sound familiar?) since it is a Peninsula. What sold us on the website was the fact that it was a great snorkeling attraction because of the beautiful crystal clear water and you supposedly can see see turtles nesting until October. We had no luck on the latter, but the beach was absolutely breathtaking! On the first night, we set up our tents, and then went down to the beach, where there were many people fishing. The boys went and got their poles. Poor Ruco and Kaleb has no luck the first night because the crabs kept eating their bait right off their hooks, but the guys beside us did catch a 2-3 foot shark as we watched! YIKES!
Then we went back to camp, and set up our TV/DVD player..haha inside the boys tent and watched Super Troopers, which is hilarious! Ruco also cooked us some great steaks with garlic toast! It was very good..my husband is a great cook! The next day, we went to the beach, and were in awe of how beautiful it was. Kaleb and I went snorkeling and we all saw at least 5 stingrays, there were tons of them!! I wasnt so scared because they stay in the sand and I had my goggles on and could see them, but you better believe I didnt put my bare feet in the sand! Marti and I actually wore flip flops in the water the whole time. Kaleb and Ruco went out to fish again and saw another shark, and my little K of course got a little scared! We also saw tons of fish and dolphins jumping. There was so much sea life here, it was amazing! We then went over to the bay area where the boys and Marti had a little more luck fishing! They caught some salt water catfish and what not! Marti's weight fell completely off her line, so she makeshifted with the seashells that have the little holes in them..haha! Of course the boys made fun, but she was the first one to catch a fish...well sort of! We stayed out there until the sunset, and the red necks went in, because they knew what they were doing, and we didnt at all. That night Ruco made us some sausage hot dogs which were also good, and we made some popcorn over the camp fire which was very entertaining! We had so much fun all weekend! Kaleb was the cutest, he just kept saying how much fun he was having, and was sooo excited to fish and have "adventures!"Have I mentioned my little brother is the sweetest, most funny kid in the world? Sorry, I had to throw that in there.. We really did have the best time! I loved just turning off my cell phone, and not worrying about anything! Why is it that I am so addicted to having my phone, computer, etc. but it is also so nice to take a break from these things? I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day holiday and I am going to attach some more pictures of our weekend here at the end!
