Doesnt this look like the coolest job ever? This is in an orphanage in Ghana. All of these babies have lost one or both parents bc of HIV, and some of them are infected themselves. I have been obsessively looking at pictures/reading articles about the needs of HIV orphans in Africa lately. Ruco has said since he has met me that he feels called to open an orphanage in Africa, and I was kind of like...OK. Lately, it is all I can think about. I am still deciding what to get my masters in, and had kind of decided my senior year of college to do Public Health. Then today, I was looking on the George Washington Univ. website, (where Ruco was accepted.) They have Masters in Public Health with emphasis' in Maternal and Child Health. So I am applying to grad schools between now and December (along with Ruco) and I think I am going to apply to the Public Health programs afterall. I think I may still apply to some Urban/International Education programs as well and just see where I get in, but I will really be hoping for George Washington's maternal and child health program. Rucos acceptance is still deferred until Fall '07. The MPH is also part of the Peace Corps Masters International, so you apply to both at the same time, and do both simultaneously. For example, you go to DC, complete one year of studies, then go to your overseas assignment (all expenses covered) for 2 years, and then return to GWU to write your thesis on your experiences in Peace Corps and graduate! So I will keep you all updated on that. I know its all in Gods timing, but Im just excited about the passions that he is placing in mine and rucos hearts!!
