The last week has been awesome with the Burgoynes! I met them in London and we had a blast. I didnt have my camera, so Auntie Kimberley will have to send the photos to me when she gets back home. They are leaving tomorrow to go back to London where they fly out on the 19th. In London, we did one of the bus tours which was great because we got to see everything (Big Ben and the Parliament, changing of the guards, etc)-and hear all the funny details like where celebrities live and where Princess Dianna got her hair done and her favorite places to go out to lunch. It was very cool. On the last night, the boys stayed at the hotel, and just she and I had lunch at the cutest place overlooking the Thames. We then took the Eurostar Train into Paris the next day! Because my VDM family lives a little outside Paris in the countryside, we kind of took it easy the first day and went on a walk around their house. They have the cutest neighborhood where everything is cobble stone. The next day we went into Paris and did a walking tour with the best little tourguide who really knows his way around, Ruco! He took us from Notre Dame to the Louvre, through the gardens, and up the Champs-Elysees where we did a little shopping. Auntie Kimberley and I were set on getting a pair of shoes, which we did! We took some pictures in front of the Arc De Triomphe and called it a day because the boys were getting very tired. The next day we went to an awesome Chateau just outside Melun called Vieux Le Vicomte and walked around the gardens and stayed until they lit candles at 8.
The following day we went into Paris again and went inside the Louvre and then walked all over, and ended the day going up the Eiffel Tower. The next day we went to Napoleon's Chateau in Fontainebleau, which is really close to where my in-laws live. Its an awesome Palace and Fontainebleau is an awesome town with alot of history. Aunt Kim, my mother-in-law and I actually ended up going back the following day to do some more shopping and have some lunch while the boys played golf. I had such an AMAZING time having my family here. It has been so wonderful.
We are now getting ready for our road trip through Spain and Portugal. We leave tomorrow. We are getting our shopping lists ready of things we will need and trying to pinpoint where exactly we would like to stay and for how long we will stay at each place. I guess we will stay a few days in Madrid and all along in Spain and then head over to Portugal. I have never been to Portugal, so Im excited about that!! I more than likely will be MIA for the next 4 weeks as we travel. I will miss you all more than I can say. Jillo-I think I will be back in time to call and wish you a VERY SPECIAL 24th birthday. If anything really exciting happens to anyone else, email me and I will try to find a payphone to call! :)I love you all!
