Back in Kampala..

We finished our time with the MET team in Kamwenge (HIV/AIDS awareness) and had a great time. We basically helped with HIV awareness trainings most days and it was so eye-opening and definitely a learning experience!
We are now in Kampala and honestly think we are in Heaven! This weekend we went to see a movie in the theater, went to the pool, out to eat at a lot of great restaurants (including a South African one called Spur which Ruco was very excited about!) and even to get icecream and coffee! We are certainly spoiled here. We also had the chance on Sunday to go to "Calvary Chapel" with another young married couple working with SP. Calvary Chapel is a church I had actually been to before in Florida. The worship was great and we felt so at home.
Now that we are back at work in Kampala, we have been working again with the OCEP-Orphan Care and Equip Project. We have visited many children and done a few more Christmas Shoe box drops to kids and families who need encouraging! We have also gone to a local orphanage to pay school fees and get kids ready to go back to school this week! Next week, I am super excited because we will attend the Watoto conference!!!! I think it will be a great time of learning from more seasoned development and NGO workers about how to care for orphans and vulnerable children. Also Darlene Zschech (worship leader for Hillsong-the church we went to in Paris) will be leading worship! Awesome! I am SOOO excited~
Ruco and I are really loving being here in Uganda lately. There is a project we want to work on that is not affiliated with Samaritan's Purse, just a personal endeavor. Ruco wrote about it on his blog..www.eyeingafrica.blogspot.com. Maybe you can check out the story there. We miss you all and are so thankful for each of you in our lives, and for your constant prayers and encouragement!
