Saturday fun!
So far, we have had two meetings for our Children's Outreach program. We will be meeting in the local slum in town every Saturday and going through our Chronological Bible Storytelling program with the kids. The kids also get a hot meal, and a lot of fun time. We have had well over 150 kids show up for the program both weeks we have met! I think the hot meal is quite an incentive for them. They bring their own bowls/cups from home. It kind of broke my heart, as even the small ones would just grip their cups while jumping rope and playing football. They are all just waiting to receive their food. The program went really well yesterday. I taught the second part of the Creation Story, and had someone translate for me. After, I asked some of the kids what they learned from the story. One girl I met, Fiona, said, "I learned that God made man out of the dust, and he breathed the breath into the man's nostrils." It was so cute. Then I asked her, “Did you also remember the part of the story where it told us that man was made from God’s image?” I continued by telling her how precious she is to God, and that He has created her wonderfully in His image. As she walked alongside me, holding my hand, she nodded. I hope that she really understands that she was created wonderfully in His image. Pray with me that through the program, all of the children will come to understand their incredible value, and how loved they are by our Savior!!!
Bible Storytelling
So cute, but looks so sad!
Jumping rope, a work out for me! I'm quite out of shape!
Ruco flipping the kids..they love him.
Walking on his hands. You can imagine what ensued after this. Lots of kids attempting to walk on their hands!
I think this might have been the cutest little girl I have ever seen. All smiles.
Those girls could really whip that rope! I lost an earring to that rope!
Hot porridge.
My multi-talented husband...so gifted! :)
