Saying Good-bye

Last night, we had our going away party here in Moroto. It was so much fun, and at first, I thought I would make it through the party without waterworks! I was wrong! We had a great dinner, and then we were serenaded with some songs written by our very own Agnes and Michael! Afterwards, we had some gifts that were really sweet-jewelry and the biggest Karimojong stool that I have ever seen (signed by all the staff)! Up until this point, I was doing OK-laughing and having SO much fun. Then came the speeches. I just can't handle those speeches. Some were really funny though. Musa said, "I have learned from Ruco how to treat your partner. Ruco can't go 3 hours without seeing Kristi. After that time, he is looking for her." haha! That made me laugh. But really, it has been so wonderful for Ruco and I to have the chance to work together, offices side by side. I don't know what we will do when we have to go the whole day without seeing each other. :/

Everyone else also said really sweet things, and it just made me realize how much I am going to miss everyone. They were our family for the last 14 months. So, of course at the end of EVERYONE else's speeches, I also had to give one. Well, if you were at Heather's wedding when I had to deliver the matron of honor speech, it was pretty much a do-over of that. No words: just lots of sobs. I don't know what is wrong with me!!!

But it truly was SUCH a wonderful night that I will remember throughout my life!

Now for some photos! The posing for photos was hilarious last night! I have chosen to leave out the many photos of people posing with their pieces of meat and food. haha!

Me with Agnes! She is so wise...

Ruco with his massive Karimojong stool. Everyone LOVED it and was cracking up when Ruco was later posing as a Karimojong man!!!

Ann P just wrapped his arms around Ruco!
:)

Both of us can sit on this huge stool.
Roseline and I, I really love her and will miss her!!

Sam David wanted to pose like this!

Ruco and all the guys (behind him is our "first-born" and my "best girlfriend" here in Moroto, Tred! We will miss him SO!!)

They decided to pick Ruco up! Emma calls Ruco his "first born."

Singing the good-bye song that Agnes wrote

Such sweet memories!
It is with SUCH heavy hearts that we are saying good-bye, and we are praying that God brings us back to Uganda, and to Karamoja to visit our "family" again someday!

We have finished our packing this morning, said have said good-bye to our little apartment at Mt. Moroto!!!
Tomorrow-Kampala
Monday-get on airplane and head to US.
May 1st-Ruco heads to Haiti with SP (I will join him shortly)!

I can't believe it.
